Injury Prevention

Using an objective perspective that is a bit different than other health care providers, Nadine makes biomechanical links to sport technique or basic functional movements like walking.

A detailed history and comprehensive, functional assessment to determine safety and efficiency of movement provide the basis for specific recommendations ranging from a few simple exercises to movement or technique modification to reduce strain on vulnerable tissues (injuries), reduce energy expenditure through efficiency of movement, and improve performance.

Additional review of health history, family history, lifestyle, environment, and other factors impacting overall health provides deeper insight to potential risks. Consideration of all these components guide preventive education addressing the unique needs of the individual.

Injury Risk Assessment

An analysis of movement patterns, biomechanical function, athletic/occupational skills, and specified sport technique to determine presence of imbalances, asymmetries, weaknesses, instability, hypo- or hyper-mobility, limited flexibility, and/or anatomical anomalies that may increase the risk for injury during high-level activity such as sport.
